Yellow Beryl also known as Heliodor from the Greek phrase meaning Gift from the Sun, the name heliodor was coined in the early 20th century. This golden-yellow variety is part of the beryl mineral family which also contains Aquamarine, Morganite, and Emerald.

It is a hard stone (Mohs 7.5-8) great for most jewelry purposes and relatively inexpensive. This material is routinely heated and irradiated to bring out the wonderful yellow or golden color.
